One of the things about working from home is that you get incredibly bored with being at home. You really have to leave home quite often to keep your sanity. We had been stuck at home since about October, so we took a short trip last week to San Diego to escape the cold and get out of the house. Even if we end up working most nights in the hotel, it’s better to work from the hotel than it is to work from home. Of course, you’re always more productive at home.
Anyhow, on this short trip we went to San Diego, which we loved. In fact, my husband has now decided he wants to move there. To bad the size of house we would need costs have a million dollars! So, we’ll probably just go back again this summer or in a few months. Heck, I could go back next week. There’s so much I want to do there that we didn’t have time to do. We really didn’t even scrape the surface of San Diego.
The first day we went to SeaWorld and in retrospect we are glad that we went on the first day, because the second day of our trip was when the SeaWorld trainer in Orlando was killed. If we had waited to go until the second day, we may have not been able to see the show and I wouldn’t have been able to get these pictures:
We also went to the San Diego Zoo. All of my life I’ve heard that this zoo was amazing and it really is. The place is huge though. We ate at Albert’s, the restaurant in the zoo, and then walked the whole center section of it. We saw the baby panda bear, even though he mostly wanted to sleep and then we took a bus tour around the perimeter of the park because the place was just too big to walk and TJ was getting restless.
This little guy was 7 months old. He was the only one you could really see. Everyone else was asleep. In fact, a lot of the zoo was asleep, but you never know what you’re going to get at the zoo. TJ fell asleep on the bus tour and it was starting to get chilly, so we called it a day and headed back to the hotel.
All in all we had a lot of fun, but there’s still a lot I want to see in San Diego, such as the Coronado Beach (which is supposed to be beautiful and is technically in Coronado) and I want to go to the Seaport Village. We didn’t rent a car and took taxis everywhere we went this time and we’ll definitely rent a car next time. We really liked San Diego a lot, so we’ll be back!
