We are going to Spain at the end of September and to in order to keep up with the business, we needed a phone that we could use internationally. There aren’t many international cell phones out there and there are only two Blackberries that are international. We both had Blackberry Curves, so we had to get a new phone or rent one. With the discount that the Sprint rep was able to give us on the Blackberry Tour, it was better to buy it than to rent the Motorola that had very limited email usage. You can only use services like Gmail on the Motorola, which meant that we would have to forward and cloak all of our emails through Gmail, which could turn into a nightmare later on. So, because the Sprint rep was willing to give us a discount on a Tour, we opted for that phone.
I love this phone – it’s awesome. My husband is trying to conceal his jealousy, but he’s not doing it very well. The screen is brighter. The icons are larger and the whole menu screen looks totally sleek and modern. The keyboard takes some getting used to because the buttons are different than the Curve, which would have been bad for my husband’s big thumbs. Good thing I got it! Oh, and when you plug it in to charge it gives you a clock and the date. I really like that. I’m always checking the date. It’s one of those things I simply can’t remember. The processing speed might be a little bit faster than the Curve, but Blackberries aren’t known for their speed.
The main downside is that the shininess of the phone makes it show off fingerprints easily, but what new phone doesn’t have that problem? It also came with a nice swivel case instead of the leather sleeve, which helps me to keep it from getting lost in my giant purse. There’s just something about a new phone that makes a girl giddy!
