The Saints are Superbowl Champions!

I know my husband probably never thought he would see the day that the Saints would be Super Bowl Champions.  We feel like we are living in some sort of fantasy land right now.  It’s simply amazing and we are beside ourselves right now.  We are actually season ticket holders for the Saints and we go to every home opener.

I know a lot of people have a hard time understanding why the City of New Orleans needed this win, but I believe you have to go there and see it for yourself.  The city looks good now, but anywhere you go you will see homes that were destroyed by Katrina.  That hurricane was so horrible, I didn’t know how they would recover so many years ago now.  We were actually at the game that followed Hurricane Gustav and the people were just allowed back into the city the day before.  Even though Gustav didn’t do much to the city, there were homes that were lost and our hotel was actually shut down.  It was virtually impossible to find a hotel room there and you definitely had to pay for it.  The city did need this win and hopefully the state and government will do a little more to help them continue rebuilding.  They’re doing all that they can, but they still need help.  We are so proud of the Saints!

Now all we need is the Cubs to go to the World Series!
